Create the perfect smile

Discoloured, crooked, worn or chipped teeth, even your tooth size can have a noticeable effect on your smile and the confidence that lies behind it. Self consciousness can get in the way of some people’s willingness to smile, so they will limit how often and how openly they do it. Several measures to enhance the quality of your smile are available such as tooth whitening, Invisalign and resin bonding, but porcelain veneers are one tried and tested option that continues to deliver stunning results for many patients.

My Smile Dental in Sydenham offers patients the opportunity to enjoy the confidence and multitude of other benefits that come from wearing porcelain veneers. We’ll fit you with a set that looks natural,  shaped to perfectly fit your teeth and gives you the aesthetically appealing smile you want.

A simple, straightforward procedure

The process of installing porcelain veneers is simple and straightforward. Initially, you book an appointment with one of our dentists who discusses why you want veneers, assesses your teeth and from that assessment decides whether or not dental veneers are suitable for you.

If everyone is happy to go ahead, you’ll be administered with a local anaesthetic, after which the dentist will remove about half a millimetre of enamel from each tooth. We’ll then take impressions of your mouth that will help us create veneers that match the shape and size of your teeth. This can take roughly one to two weeks to be completed. Once the veneers are ready you’ll have them applied to your teeth, giving you a permanent aesthetic solution in just two clinical appointments.

The benefits of dental veneers

Choosing dental veneers over other cosmetic dentistry procedures offers these advantages:

  • They look natural
  • Porcelain is gum tissue friendly and stain resistant
  • The choice of porcelain colours means you can go whiter than your natural teeth
  • Veneers don’t require the extensive tooth shaping that crowns do
  • They generally last between 5 and 10 years and don’t require any special care
